Maruti Suzuki Alto 800: Emotions Of 40lakh+ Indians

Maruti Suzuki Alto 800: It was the cheapest car in the country, however, the place of the cheapest car was taken by Tata Nano. The price of Alto 800 started from Rs 3.55 lakh and went up to Rs 5.15 lakh.
Currently, the company stopped its production in 2016 itself. But even today it is purchased in the second hand market.
Why did the company discontinued its best selling car?
Actually, the second phase of BS-VI emission rules came into effect from April 1, 2023. After this, Maruti realized that if it upgrades the Alto 800 as per the new emission standards, then it would not make financial sense to do so, and if the company did so, the price of the car would have reached around the Alto K10 launched by Maruti. In such a situation, Alto 800 would become irrelevant in the market. Apart from this, keeping many other things in mind, Maruti stopped the production of Alto 800.
The sales of this car were more than the total sales of many companies. The car is very small, but 5 people can sit comfortably. The biggest feature of the car is that it can be taken on any kind of road. It can go on such rare mountainous roads and hill station trips, for which people buy big and expensive cars.
4 people can easily travel in it during long trips. However, the car can also accommodate 5 people.
Even today, this car is used by travel companies for tourists in hilly areas.
