Hyundai has unveiled its retro-futuristic designed electric SUV Ioniq 9 at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2024. This electric SUV will be launched in mid of 2026 and will be available in 3-row seating configuration. So, what are you waiting for? Just slide up and know about it in details;
Hyundai’s Ioniq series is known for its attractive and different design. Although there is little similarity between the Ioniq 5 SUV and the Ioniq 6 sedan, the Ioniq 9 does share some design themes with the Ioniq 5.
Power And Performance:
The Ioniq 9 is based on the same platform as the Kia EV9 as we all know Hyundai and Kia are the sub brands of each other so we can definitely see some similarities among both of these companies manufactured vehicles.
Well, It has a 110.3 kWh battery pack.
This vehicle comes in three options., Its base model is equipped with a rear-wheel-drive(RWD) technology and its engine produces 218 hp of power, while the all-wheel-drive(AWD) engine system is capable of generating a maximum power of 307 hp. At the same time, the top end performance variant’s equipped engine can generate 442 hp of power.
Talking about the range, its range on full charge is claimed to be up to 544 kilometers, which is for the RWD model and It takes only 28 minutes to charge it from 10% to 80% via DC fast charger.
Design and Dimensions:
The SUV has a blunt front with curves and flat and angled lines on the fenders that give it a totally unique look. The Ioniq 9, which is offered in grey, has a design that resembles an SUV from a science-fiction film. Its pixelated lighting elements add to the identity of the Ioniq lineup.
This Hyundai’s vehicle has a coefficient of drag (Cd) of only 0.269, making it extremely aerodynamic. This feature is usually seen in sports cars. Its active underbody flaps further improve its aerodynamic capability.
Now coming to the interior:
We usually see that EVs usually do not have a transmission hump, so Hyundai has adopted a completely flat floor design. This makes the cabin feel more open and comfortable.
The driver gets a 12-inch instrument cluster and a 12-inch central touchscreen, which together gives the experience of a 24-inch curved screen. Apart from this, it includes smart features like AI-powered voice assistants. However, the swiveling seats in the second row will not be available in the US. But the other interior features of the car make it special.
When will it launch in India?
To be honest, I don’t think that Hyundai will launch this vehicle in India because, currently the Indian market isn’t ready for such kinds of vehicles.
