The aircraft was flying near Passanval village when it experienced this terrifying altitude loss from 11km to 7.8km in one minute.
Simultaneous with the drop, the plane experienced sudden speed increases, compounding the dangerous situation for passengers and crew.
The emergency occurred at 5:57pm, with the most severe turbulence lasting approximately one minute before stabilization.
The flight was on its scheduled path when it encountered unexpected clear-air turbulence at cruising altitude.
