Infrastructure change in Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has entered the election this time with the claim of improving education, health, security arrangements and transport facilities. The Delhi government says the infrastructure has changed with a focus on improving urban life. Not only this, it has also played an important role in public facilities in road construction. This includes road, flyover construction, metro expansion. All this has been witnessed by the people during the tenure of the current government. While development has also been seen in the authorised colonies.

The special thing is that lifts are being installed in many schools for disabled students. Laboratories and smart classrooms have been set up in government schools to improve the quality of education. Not only this, eight new modern schools are being built. Since 2015, 54 schools have been upgraded to modelling schools. The Delhi government has increased the number of cameras to ensure the safety of the people. With over 3 lakh cameras, Delhi has surpassed global economic centres like Tokyo and New York. The number of street lights has increased from 66 thousand to 4 lakh.

Also pay attention to health

The government has set up a three-tier healthcare system including neighbourhood clinics, polyclinics and multi-specialty hospitals to provide accessible and quality healthcare. Between 2015 and 2023, 533 mohalla clinics were established, providing free consultations, diagnostics and medicines to millions of people. 8,991 new beds have been approved in government hospitals to augment the medical infrastructure to meet the needs of the growing population.

Improving public transport from metro network

If you look at the infrastructure, Delhi’s metro network has increased from 200 km to 450 km in 2015 as a metro extension. The construction of 10 thousand kilometres of new roads in the road network has improved connectivity across the capital. At the same time, 38 new flyovers have been built. Roads are being constructed to improve connectivity, the Delhi government has increased the bus fleet from five thousand to 7,700.

Public facilities have increased

The Delhi government has increased public facilities at its level. The government claims to have laid 6,800 kilometres of new drainage and sewer lines during its tenure. This has improved cleanliness. Four thousand kilometres of new water pipelines have been laid. Significant initiatives have been taken to improve the living conditions in unauthorised colonies. Rs 902 crore has also been allocated to further develop these colonies. Since 2015, the government has constructed 5,175 km of roads in 1,355 unauthorised colonies. The work of laying 2,422 kilometres of water pipeline has been completed. The government has laid 3,100 km of sewer pipelines, which connect 1,031 unauthorised colonies to the city’s 4,243 km sewerage network.
