Delhi became the second most polluted city in the country for the fourth consecutive time

Delhi Pollution: Delhi, the country’s capital, has been declared the second most polluted city in India for the fourth consecutive month in January. This information has been given in the report released by the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA). According to a report, Delhi’s average PM 2.5 level was recorded at 165 micrograms per cubic metre in January 2025. This far exceeds the National Air Quality Standard (NAQS) limit set in India at 60 micrograms per cubic metre.

Improvement in Delhi’s Air Valence

On Friday (February 7, 2025), the sky was clear in Delhi and the minimum temperature was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius, improving air density. According to the CPCB, Delhi’s average AQI was recorded at 156 till 4 pm. The maximum temperature was recorded at 23.3 degrees Celsius. According to the weather department, the humidity level was between 33 and 60 percent throughout the day.

The sky will be clear in Delhi

According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will be clear in Delhi on Saturday and the wind is likely to be less than 10 km/h from northwest direction in the morning. According to report, there is a possibility of fog in Delhi in the morning and the wind speed will gradually increase from north-west direction to 14 to 16 km/hr in the afternoon.

An analysis by the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) has shown that PM 2.5 exceeded the national air quality standard’s 60 micrograms per cubic metre limit in 105 cities out of 240 in January. The air quality in Delhi is expected to deteriorate again in the coming weeks when the weather warms up slightly. The GRAP Stage-3 restrictions were lifted on February 3 due to improvements in AQI in the capital.
