Secret of victory and defeat: Over 60 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the Delhi Assembly elections on Wednesday. The Election Commission’s voter app was updated at 11.30 pm, according to which 60.44 per cent voter turnout in Delhi. The north-eastern district had the highest voter turnout of 66.25 per cent, while the south-eastern district had 56.16 per cent.
According to the assembly constituencies, Mustafabad had the highest voter turnout of 69 per cent, while Mehrauli had the lowest voter turnout of 53.04 per cent. According to the data, Shahdara recorded 63.94 per cent, South West Delhi 61.09 per cent, North West Delhi 60.70 per cent, North Delhi 59.55 per cent, Central Delhi 59.09 per cent and South-East Delhi 56.26 per cent.
Know the status of these VIP seats including New Delhi
On the other hand, if we talk about VIP seats, the New Delhi seat, where Arvind Kejriwal is contesting and he is contesting against BJP’s Parvesh Verma and Congress’ Sandeep Dikshit, 56.41 per cent voter turnout has been recorded.
Besides, 54.59 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the Kalkaji seat, from which Delhi Chief Minister Atishi is contesting. He is pitted against BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress’ Alka Lamba.
60.70 per cent voter turnout was recorded in Patparganj seat. Awadh Ojha is in the fray from here on behalf of Aam Aadmi Party.
The voter turnout was 57.42 per cent in Jangpura seat. Manish Sisodia is contesting here.
The voter turnout was 54.50 per cent in the Greater Kailash seat. Aam Aadmi Party’s Saurabh Bhardwaj is in the fray from here.
In Karwal Nagar seat, 64.44 per cent voter turnout was recorded. BJP’s Kapil Mishra is contesting from here.
AIMIM’s Tahir Hussain is contesting from Mustafabad seat with 69 per cent voter turnout.
The polling in Okhla seat was 54.90 per cent. Aam Aadmi Party’s Amanatullah Khan is in the fray from here.
Aam Aadmi Party’s Satyendra Jain is contesting from Shakur Basti seat with 63.56 per cent voter turnout.
In Najafgarh constituency, 64.14 per cent voting was recorded. Former Aam Aadmi Party MLA and minister Kailash Gehlot is contesting from this seat on a BJP ticket.
How many votes were cast in the 2020 Delhi election?
In the 2020 assembly elections, 62.59 per cent voter turnout was recorded. In the last election, the Arvind Kejriwal-led party had won 62 out of 70 seats, while the BJP got eight and the Congress zero seats. This time, several exit polls have predicted the BJP’s victory over the ruling AAP, while the Congress is losing once again. There are a total of 1.56 crore voters in Delhi. The vote percentage is expected to rise after officials updated data from all 13,766 polling stations.
