During this, he said that 6500 seats will be increased in IITs and 3 AI centres will be opened. In addition, he has announced to increase the number of seats for students in the medical field. The Finance Minister said that 10 thousand seats will be increased in 5 years. Apart from this, there is a budget of Rs 500 crore for AI education.

Medical Studies

There is always a fever about medical studies in the country. The main reason for this is the shortage of seats in government medical colleges. At the same time, if a student studies medicine in private, then crores of rupees are spent. But Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has given a big relief to medical students. He has talked about increasing 10 thousand seats in the next 5 years. This will provide relief to students who are preparing for therapy and do not have the cost of studying privately.

How many medical seats are there in the country?

Let me tell you that there are a total of 1,12,112 MBBS seats in medical colleges in the country, which are in a fever year. Admission to these seats is given through NEET examination. At the same time, before the Modi government came to power, the total number of MBBS seats as of 2014 was 51348, which was 387 medical colleges in the country by 2014. Further, as per the data up to July 2024, the number of medical colleges in the country is now 731. Similarly, the number of postgraduate medical seats has also been increased. By 2014, the total number of seats for postgraduates was 31185, while by July 2024, the number of these seats has increased to 72627. But now the increase in medical seats again will bring relief to students who are preparing.

Which states will benefit?

The question now is which states will benefit the most from the increase in medical seats. According to the information, students from all states will get this benefit at the central level. Seats for MBBS and PG will be increased in AIIMS and other medical colleges. Due to which students from all states will get the benefit of studying from government medical colleges.
