Gurjar And Jat Candidates In Delhi Assembly : Big parties are taking steps to win one seat each in the Delhi Assembly elections (Delhi elections 2025). This is the reason why the BJP, Congress and AAP have staked on six seats in South Delhi on Gurjar and Jat candidates.
Since Jat and Gurjar voters are considered to have considerable influence on these seats. This is the reason why the parties have chosen their candidates from the respective society. Many of these candidates have also been elected as legislators in the past.
Jat and Gurjar voters play an important role
Out of the 10 assembly seats in the South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, Jat voters in Bijwasan, Palam, Mehrauli and Gurjar voters in Tughlaqabad, Chhatarpur, Badarpur are considered to have influence. This is why major political parties have expressed confidence in Jat and Gurjar candidates for these seats.
However, the voters of Purvanchal in Badarpur seat are also in a decisive role. This is the reason why the BJP has declared a Brahmin candidate from here. Now it will be interesting to see which candidate lives up to his party’s expectations.

Gurjar and Jat candidates are facing each other in many of these six seats. The BJP, Congress and AAP have fielded candidates from the Gurjar community in Chhatarpur and Tughlaqabad assembly seats.

Similarly, the three parties have expressed confidence in Jat candidates in Palam seat. In Bijwasan, BJP has fielded Jat and AAP has fielded Brahmin candidates. However, the BJP has fielded Yadav, the Congress has fielded Jat and the Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Gurjar from Mehrauli seat.
