The Congress has fielded Aruna Kumari and the BJP has fielded Raj Karan Khatri from this seat.

Narela seat election history

The history of Narela seat has been such that from 1972 to 2020, the Congress has won four times, the BJP twice, the Aam Aadmi Party twice and the JNP and LDP once. Hira Singh from Congress in 1972, Shanti Swaroop Tyagi from JNP in 1977, Hari Ram from LKD in 1983 came here.

In 1993, the BJP won this seat for the first time and Inder Raj Singh became an MLA. The Congress won the seat three times in a row. Charan Singh Khandera of the Congress has been an MLA twice in 1998 and 2003. Jaswant Singh had won from the Congress in 2008. In 2013, Neil Daman Khatri gave the seat to the BJP here, but in 2015 and 2020, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Sharad Chauhan has been a two-time MLA from here.
