This is the story of Delhi becoming an assembly
Since 1952, the story of how Delhi got the assembly began. 1952 Delhi was given the legislature as a part-C state. That Legislative Assembly was dissolved in 1956. In 1966, Delhi was given a municipal councillor.
The Delhi State Legislative Assembly came into existence on 17 March 1952 under the Part-C State Government Act, 1951. In 1952, the Legislative Assembly had 48 members. The Chief Commissioner had the provision of the Council of Ministers to assist and advise him in the performance of his functions, in respect of which the State Legislative Assembly was given the power to make laws.
Rajesh Jain won the second consecutive hawk in 2003
In the 2003 assembly elections, the Sadar Bazar seat was once again contested between the Congress and the BJP. Once again, the Congress has won the Sadar Bazar seat. Rajesh Jain, the sitting Congress MLA from the BJP, defeated Raghuvansh Singhal by 18,079 votes. Rajesh Jain got 33,144 votes. The BJP candidate had to be satisfied with 15,065 votes.
In 2008, the Congress scored a hat-trick of victory
The results of the 2008 election did not change. Rajesh Jain of the Congress has won for the third time. Rajesh Jain defeated BJP’s Jai Prakash by 14,089 votes. Apart from these two candidates, the bail of the remaining 13 candidates has also been seized. Rajesh Kumar Prajapati of BSP came third with 5004 votes. No other candidate could get a thousand votes.
The first win was in 2013
The year 2013 proved to be an important link for Delhi politics. In this election, apart from Congress-BJP, this time the Aam Aadmi Party, which came out of the corruption movement, was also in the fray. The contest in Sadar Bazar Assembly constituency was very interesting. The Congress, which won three consecutive elections, has slipped to the third position this time. Aam Aadmi Party’s Som Dutt defeated BJP’s Jai Prakash by just 796 votes. The Aam Aadmi Party candidate got 34,079 votes. The BJP candidate got 33,283 votes. Rajesh Jain of the Congress, who won three consecutive elections, slipped to third place with 31,094 votes.
You won the title in 2015.
Assembly elections were held in Delhi in 2015. Kejriwal had resigned in 2014 after only 49 days in the government. In February 2014, when the Lokpal Bill could not be passed, Arvind Kejriwal resigned as the Chief Minister of Delhi. RE-ELECTIONS WERE HELD IN 2015 AND KEJRIWAL RETURNED TO POWER WITH A WIN OVER 67 OUT OF 70 SEATS. In this election, AAP’s Som Gupta has won the Sadar Bazar seat. The Aam Aadmi Party defeated BJP’s Parveen Kumar Jain by 34,315 votes. The Aam Aadmi Party candidate got 67,507 votes and BJP’s Parveen Kumar Jain got 33,192 votes.
Som Gupta’s hat-trick in 2020
In the 2020 assembly elections, the AAP again won the overwhelming mandate. The Aam Aadmi Party has won 62 out of 70 seats. Talking about Sadar Bazar, there has been no change in the results of this seat. Aam Aadmi Party’s Som Gupta registered a third consecutive victory from here. The Aam Aadmi Party candidate defeated BJP’s Jai Prakash by 25,644 votes. The Aam Aadmi Party candidate got 68,790 votes and the BJP 43,146 votes.
