Action will be taken on every problem in the election, February 5 declared a public holiday

Disruption in the election: The office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi has issued a statement saying that the Election Commission has not taken any action on complaints of luring and influencing voters in the assembly elections.

The CEO’s office says that every complaint of election rigging is being taken cognisance and a thorough investigation is being conducted and action is being taken as per procedure. Election officials are working tirelessly 24 hours a day despite unfounded allegations of inaction.

Allegations of inaction are going to spoil the electoral atmosphere and try to have a negative impact around the electoral process. Election workers are unaffected by defamatory campaigns and false allegations of not acting on complaints and are committed to holding fair and transparent elections.

The CEO’s office says 7499 complaints were received through the C-Vigil app. Out of these, 7467 complaints were processed. Only 32 cases are in progress. More than 90 percent of complaints were processed within 100 minutes.

113 Application cancelled due to duplication or invalidity

Political parties and candidates have received a total of 43,992 request letters. Out of these, 34,823 applications were recognised. 8,900 request letters were cancelled. 113 applications were rejected on the sow of duplication or invalidity. In addition, more than Rs 220 crore in cash, liquor, drugs, free gifts, precious metals, etc. were seized to prevent attempts to woo voters in the election.

Responding to more than 115 complaints

In addition, more than 115 complaints received through the internet media have been actively responded to without any favouritism since the election process began. Complaints of making communal statements and creating an atmosphere of fear have been received against some candidates, which have also been taken cognisance and the police administration has been asked to take action.

February 5 will be a public holiday

The Delhi government’s general administration department on Monday issued an order to declare February 5 as a public holiday on polling day. Employees in all offices including government offices, local bodies, public sector companies will be on leave. So that employees can vote.
