Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025: Tata Unveils Its Premium SUV, Launch Confirmed!

Tata Motors has launched a new line of SUVs and future concept vehicles at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The showstopper was Tata Sierra, and it will be the next domestic SUV of manufacturers to come with petrol, diesel and electric powertrain options.
The Sierra EV will be offered with a 75 kWh dual electric motor and (All-Wheel-Drive)AWD configuration battery pack. It will boast over 475+ km of certified range on a single charge. The SUV will come with V2L and V2V charging functionalities.
Currently, Tata Curvv and Nexon are the company’s two domestic SUVs thatcomewith petrol, diesel and electric powertrain. Sierra is the third Tata SUV thatwouldbe rolled out with these three.
The Sierra Diesel Variant will come with a 2.0L Kryotec engine. This engine will be capable of producing 165bhp and 348 nm of torque. Transmission will be a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
Tata New Turbo Petrol Engine:
Tata Motors had showcased two turbo petrol engines – 1.2L T-GDI and 1.5L T-GDI during the 2023 Auto Expo. The 1.2L T-GDI is already being sold in the market and powers the Curvv variants. The 1.5L turbo petrol engine is set to power Tata’s large SUVs like the Sierra, Harrier and Safari.
Price And Competition:
Well, the company had not revealed anything regarding this new SUV, but it is expected that the introductory price of this new Tata Sierra would range between Rs 30-35 lakhs (ex-showroom), which will compete against upcoming SUVs like Maruti’s eVitara,Hyundai’s Creta EV, and others in the market.
