BMW Launched Its First ‘Made In India’ Feature-Loaded Electric SUV: Price Will Shock You!
BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase Electric was launched at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. It is the manufacturer’s first electric vehicle that is ‘Made in India’. And it is being locally produced at the BMW Group’s plant in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
iX1 LWB Electric Looks and Design:
The new BMW Electric has a sharp front-end design and increased interior space. It is 4,616 mm long and has a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. It has adaptive LED headlamps that extend to the sides. Which come with cornering functionality and BMW High Beam Assistant.
The vehicle features a long roofline with aluminium satinised roof rails. It maintains its strong presence on the road with its square wheel arches. And rides on 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear gets a large surface diffuser and sculpted LED taillamps.
Interior and Features:
The cabin of this electric SUV is claimed by the company to have the most spacious second row in the segment. The car has a widescreen curled display that integrates both infotainment and the driver’s instrument cluster. The driver gets an M Sport steering wheel and the cabin gets a two-tone aesthetic highlighted by a beige headliner, both the driver and front passenger get electrically adjustable sports seats while the rear occupants get reclining seats up to a maximum angle of 28.5 degrees. The iX1 LWB Electric also gets a panoramic sunroof for passengers, which BMW claims is the largest sunroof in its segment.
Battery, power and range:
The BMW iX1 LWB Electric is powered by a 66.4 kWh battery pack. Which takes the MIDC driving range to 528 km. This battery-electric SUV has a single electric motor on the front axle which is mated to a single-speed gearbox. With this, it generates 201 bhp of power and 251 nm of maximum torque. The SUV features one-pedal driving and adaptive recuperation, Through which it can charge the high-voltage lithium-ion battery by recovering kinetic energy.
Colours and Price:
This BMW electric SUV is available in five different colours which are, Portimao Blue Metallic, Mineral White Metallic, Skyscraper Grey Metallic, Carbon Black Metallic, and Sparkling Cooper Grey Metallic.
This SUV is priced at Rs 49 lakhs (ex-showroom) by the company. However, Prices may vary based on different geographical locations.
