CM Atishi hits back at LG’s allegations, know the full story

LG’s allegations: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has made a sharp comeback by writing a letter to LG VK Saxena on the issue of Delhi’s water. He has strongly condemned the LG, accusing him of politicising the water issue. The Chief Minister has demanded that the LG should fulfil his constitutional responsibility or else leave his post.

CM Atishi said that in LG Saheb’s letter, it has also been accepted that the level of ammonia in the water is 700 percent higher than the prescribed limit, yet he did not take any step to protect the public interest. Chief Minister Atishi said that the Aam Aadmi Party government and MLAs have repeatedly raised the issue of water quality in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal intervened in the matter when our demand for clean water for the people of Delhi was ignored. If LG Saheb really cared about the people of Delhi, he would have blamed Haryana and stopped this crisis, but he targeted us for telling the truth.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, in a letter to Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena, has said that this letter is in response to a letter received from your office on January 28. This is very disappointing, but it is no surprise that instead of resolving the ammonia issue in Delhi’s water at a dangerous level.

CM Atishi said that we talk about facts. Arvind Kejriwal raised the issue that the water of Yamuna is full of highly toxic ammonia levels. The letter from the CEO of Delhi Jal Board also confirms this. Apparently, under your pressure, an officer has had to try to defend this toxic water supply. Your letter also recognises that the current ammonia level in the water is 7.2 ppm, which is 700 percent higher than the prescribed limit.

He said both the AAP and the CEO of Delhi Jal Board are confirming this serious issue raised by Arvind Kejriwal. At this critical time you had two options to prioritise public interest or political interest. Unfortunately, you chose the other way.
