Delhi Vidhan Sabha Chunav 2025: Everyone eagerly awaits to see who will own Delhi again. Voting for the Delhi Assembly elections will be held on February 5. Clean image remains a big issue in this election. From the BJP to Congress, other parties are attacking the Aam Aadmi Party by raising the issue of corruption and Sheesh Mahal.
AAP is also fiercely targeting the BJP and Congress. No party has shied away from tainted candidates in ticket distribution. Although 18 per cent of such candidates in Delhi are against whom cases are registered, the parties have given them tickets. Due to this, Congress, BJP, and even AAP have given tickets. The affidavits provide information about the candidates’ criminal image. Below, you can learn which party gave tickets to how many tainted candidates there were.
Which cases are registered against the tainted candidates
The affidavits filed by the candidates to the Election Commission allege assault, intimidation, assault on a government employee on duty, and threats. Cases are also being brought for violating government orders. There are 129 tainted candidates in the Delhi elections. The AAP has the highest number of tainted candidates, 21 out of 70.
The BJP is second with 30 out of 70 tainted candidates, and the BJP is third with 19 tainted candidates. According to the Election Commission report, 699 candidates are in the fray for all 70 seats in Delhi. The maximum number of candidates from New Delhi are contesting against AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal. The fate of 23 candidates is to be decided here. However, BJP and Congress candidates are seen giving tough competition to Kejriwal in this seat.
Congress did not open its account in 2015 and 2020
In the last decade, the political atmosphere of Delhi has not been favourable for Congress. Be it the year 2105 or the assembly elections of 2020, Congress got out on zero in both. Not only this but a considerable drop was seen in the vote percentage. Once again, Congress is trying its best to establish its foothold in 2025. In 2020, AAP won 62 seats. In 2015, AAP created history by winning 67 seats.
