Driving License Online Apply: Now, no one will need to go to the Divisional Transport Department (RTO) office to get a driving licence. The government has introduced the facility of online application for temporary (learning) licenses. Applicants can avail this service from their home or through Sahaj Jan Seva Kendra.
Driving test has to be given for permanent license
The applicant has to come to the office to obtain a permanent driving license after 30 days of online application. They have to give an automated driving test on the track in Bathua. The permanent license will be issued only after passing the exam.
Avoid middlemen, submit fees yourself
To maintain transparency in the application and licensing process, the Department of Transport has appealed that no one should pay any agent or intermediary for licensing or other services. Applicants have to pay the prescribed fee themselves.
Penalty Fee Waiver Scheme

What is the Penalty Fee Waiver Scheme?
The Divisional Transport Department is giving 100% remission on penalty with dues. The scheme is applicable to vehicles registered before the notification of November 6, 2024 and will remain in effect till February 5.
Process of benefitting from the scheme
- A fee of Rs 200 has been fixed for vehicles with a gross load of up to 7500 kg.
- Vehicles weighing more than 7,500 kg will have to pay a fee of Rs 500.
- Vehicle owners can apply till February 5 as per the prescribed procedure.
