eShram Card: Know the benefits of eShram Card, how to use it, read all the details

eShram Card: The Ministry of Labour and Employment had launched a national database, e-Shram portal for unorganised sector workers in 2021. It has been launched on the portal to benefit all workers in the unorganised sector including migrant workers and domestic workers. Any person working in the unorganised sector can apply for e-Shram card or Shramik card. Labourers working in these sectors can avail various benefits through e-Shram Card.

What is e-Shram Card?

E-Shram Card Benefits: Any person working in the unorganised sector can apply for Shramik Card or e-Shram Card. Under this, workers in the unorganised sector can get benefits like pension, death insurance, financial assistance in case of disability after 60 years. Under this, the beneficiaries will get a valid 12-digit UAN number across India.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment has developed the e-Shram portal to create a National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW), which is being linked to Aadhaar. It is the first national database of unorganised workers including migrant workers, construction workers, gig and platform workers, etc.

Benefits of e-Shram Card

Under this, people working in the unorganised sector are given a pension of Rs 3,000 per month after the age of 60 years.

It provides death insurance of Rs 2,00,000 and financial support of Rs 1,00,000 in case of partial disability of a worker.

If a beneficiary (an unorganised sector worker with e-Shram card) dies due to an accident, all benefits will be provided to his or her spouse.

E-Shram Card Free Registration

e-Shram Card is a welfare scheme launched by the Government of India for unorganised sector workers. This card is for unorganised sector workers, such as construction workers, domestic workers, rickshaw pullers, street vendors, etc. Workers with e-Shram card holders get direct benefits of insurance, pension and other government schemes. Registration is free of charge and can be done through the Ministry of Labour and Employment website or CSC centres.
