Expressed confidence in strong identity, all three parties bet on 19 councillors and 22 former councillors, the most from BJP

Expressed faith in strong recognition: In the assembly elections, the BJP, AAP and Congress have bet on councillors and former councillors as well as MLAs and former MLAs. The BJP has fielded the most councillors compared to the AAP and the Congress. Similarly, former councillors have also been given more tickets than other parties. Among these current and former councillors, many leaders have held important positions in the MCD.

The BJP has given tickets to 11 councillors besides two nominated councillors. AAP has given tickets to six councillors and four former councillors. The list of Congress candidates includes the names of two councillors and seven former councillors. The BJP had earlier given importance to councillors in local elections and has adopted the same strategy this time too. The BJP is trying to convert the local identity of the councillors and their work experience into an electoral advantage.

This makes it clear that the BJP has decided to use the old cadre as an electoral force as well. These councillors and former councillors have a strong base in their respective fields. The BJP has fielded its councillor Gajendra Daral from Mundka, Rekha has fielded Daral from Shalimar Bagh, Poonam Sharma from Wazirpur, Manoj Jindal from Sadar Bazar, Kamal Bagri against AAP Minister Imran Hussain, Neelam Wrangler from Najafgarh, Umang Bajaj from Rajendra Nagar, Shikha Rai Greater Kailash against AAP Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj, Priyanka Gautam, Anil Gaur from Patparganj and Anil Gaur from Seelampur.
