Union Budget For Indian States: Finance Minister of India has given something to everyone in her 8th budget. But to the state governments, Kuber’s treasury has completely opened its mouth. The Government of India is going to give 14 lakh 22 thousand 444 crore rupees to the state governments in the year 2025-26. In this item, the Government of India is going to give one lakh 37 thousand 459 crore rupees more to the states than last year. In 2024-25, Rs 12 lakh 86 thousand 885 crore was paid by the Government of India to the states under central taxes.
State governments will be able to spend this amount arbitrarily as per their requirement. Because this amount is not given to be spent on a particular development project or a particular item. Nor is it a loan of any kind. It is entirely the revenue of the state government, not obliged by the state government or any other agency to spend it in any particular way.
Many states are in crisis, facility will be provided
Many states in the country are facing an economic crisis. A few months ago, the Himachal Pradesh government had to face a crisis of paying salaries to its employees. In such a situation, the states will get their treasury strong on the basis of the huge amount given by the Government of India. In a few days, the process of budgeting for 2025-26 will also begin in the states. The Government of India will make it easier for the states to budget for their dreams of employment, growth and prosperity by the Government of India.

Government of India agencies also collect corporate tax, income tax, central GST, customs duty, union excise duty, service tax and some other taxes. A part of the income earned by the Government of India is given to the states. The Central Finance Commission decides which state will get how much.
