According to reports, the new generation Fortuner is being prepared on TNGA-F architecture. At present the current Fortuner is based on IMV architecture. The TNGA-F platform supports a wide range of body styles and engine types.
Toyota Fortuner latest model: Last year, Toyota had introduced a new version of Fortuner, in which mild hybrid technology has been provided. A 2.8 liter diesel engine has been provided in this variant. It has an electric motor generator with 48 volt setup, which generates 201bhp power and 500Nm torque. Due to the mild hybrid system, its power has increased by 16 bhp and torque output by 42Nm. The regenerative braking system provided with it increases the overall performance of the car.
Expected Engine and Details of New Fortuner: The new Toyota Fortuner will come with both rear wheel drive (RWD) and 4×4 drivetrains. Its mild hybrid powertrain may come with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 2.8 liter diesel engine of the car can give a mileage of up to 12.75 kilometers per liter with 4×4 setup. Whereas the mild hybrid engine can give a mileage of 13.28 kmpl.
In the new Fortuner, modern features like Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Climate Control, Toyota Safety Suite, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Pre-Collision System, Road Sign Assist, Protective Driving Control and Automatic High Beam can be upgraded. Apart from this, for better control and mileage, the hydraulic steering system will be replaced with an electric power-assisted unit and stability control system.
What will be the price of the all new Toyota Fortuner?
According to sources, the price of the new Fortuner will be 2-3% more expensive than the price of the existing Fortuner, although the company has not said anything officially yet, so people will have to wait till its launch.
