Delhi Public Holiday: The Assembly elections of Delhi will be held on Feb 5. This day will be a public holiday. This notification has been issued on the order of the Lieutenant Governor. It said that the Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi has declared a public holiday to all government offices, local/autonomous bodies, public sector undertakings under the Government of the National Capital Territory on the occasion of general election to the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, February 5.

83.49 lakh male, 71.73 lakh female voters in Delhi

Out of the 70 constituencies of Delhi, 58 seats in 11 districts are general and 12 are reserved for Scheduled Castes. Further, there are 83.49 lakh male voters and 71.73 lakh female voters in Delhi. The number of third gender voters is 1,261. These include 25.89 lakh youth voters. There are more than 1.55 crore voters in Delhi. The total number of polling stations in the Delhi election is 13,033, out of which 70-70 polling stations are managed by persons with disabilities (PWDs) and women.

Criminal cases against 19 per cent candidates

According to an analysis by the electoral rights organisation ADR, 19 per cent of the candidates contesting the Delhi Assembly polls have criminal cases and the figure in the 2020 elections was 20 per cent.

The Aam Aadmi Party is contesting on 70 seats, the Congress on 70 seats, the BJP on 68.

The main contest in Delhi is between the Aam Aadmi Party, the BJP and the Congress. But Asaduddin Owaisi and Mayawati have also fielded their candidates. The Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress are contesting on all 70 seats in Delhi. The BJP is contesting on 68 seats. He gave one seat to his ally JD(U) and one seat to Chirag Paswan’s party.

Last time AAP won 62 seats

In the last assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party had won 62 seats. The BJP won eight seats. Congress’s account could not even be opened.
