Tax Cut Idea: On February 1, 2025, while presenting the Budget 2025, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that people with an annual income of up to Rs 12 lakh will not have to pay any tax. In this regard, he said on Sunday (February 2, 2025) that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had fully supported the idea of tax cuts, but it took some time to convince the bureaucrats.
“In an interview to news agency PTI, he said, “”The Prime Minister had clearly said that he wanted to do something.” The ministry should first feel comfortable and then proceed with the proposal. Therefore, the board needs to work further to convince that the tax collection will be efficient and the voice of the taxpayers will be honest. All this was the work of the Ministry, not the Prime Minister.
