Porsche Taycan Is In Danger This Hyper GT Launched In India: Lotus Emeya 2025

Lotus has launched its second electric vehicle, the Emeya, in India, This Lotus Emeya is positioned below the Eletre SUV and forms part of the Geely-owned company’s strategy to become all-electric by 2028. However, Lotus has not yet announced prices for the S and R variants of this Hyper GT.

Design and Dimensions:

It has a wheelbase of 3,069mm, length measures 5,139mm and 2,005mm in width, with a height of 1,465mm. That puts the Emeya bigger than the Porsche Taycan, which is its closest competitor.

Lotus Emeya Power and Performance:

It comes with dual motors for AWD and are available on all three versions of the Emeya which are Standard, S and R.

The base Emeya and Emeya S’s front and rear motors deliver 594 hp and 706 Nm of torque which can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in 3.9 seconds, and gives a top speed of 243 kph. The flagship Emeya R is the most powerful at 902 hp and 983 Nm, accelerating from 0 to 100kph in 2.4 seconds and topping out at 249 kph. Emeya is Lotus’ first electric grand tourer that comes with 102kWh battery and up to 610 km WLTP range.

All three receive a 102kWh lithium-ion battery pack with an 800-volt support. With a 350kW DC fast charger, the battery is recharged from 10 percent to 80 percent in 14 minutes. Charging using a 22kWh AC wall charger requires 6 hours. The WLTP range for the car stands at 607 km for the standard model, 537 km for the S and 429 km for the R; these hold only when abiding by the standard 20-inch wheels.

Looks and Exterior:

At the front profile, it has Four LED daytime running lights(DRL’s), two on each side, are placed above the headlights housed in the bumper. Further, the vents in the bumper get active-aero technology, enabling them to alter their aperture for airflow and cooling, Side wheel arches enclose the 20 (standard)-22 inch alloy well and carbon fibre components are a gift of the brand’s racing heritage.

It comes with Flush door handles that also contribute to aerodynamic efficiency. Its rear sloping roofline blends with the spoiler, which is larger than the Eletre SUV’s and opens in three stages. The drag coefficient is a claimed 0.21Cd with standard wheels. When it comes to illumination, a vertical light strip runs width-wide.

Slide into its interior:

We can see the dashboard of the Emeya is taken from the Eletre, but with the use of alternative lighting and materials, it is distinct. There’s a liberal application of Alcantara and leather, apart from knurled metal on all touchpoints. There will be an option of buying vegan upholstery too. Five massage modes accompany the seats, a 55-inch HUD exists, and an audio system is KEF-powered with Uni-Q speakers and Uni-Core subwoofer, all backed by Dolby Atmos 3D surround sound technology. Rearing over the octagonal steering wheel it comes with an 8-inch driver’s screen for important stuff.

It also has a 15.1-inch central screen, including AC vents. Even the co-passenger has a little screen to call their own, positioned directly over the glove compartment. The Emeya also features an electrochromic glass top that is capable of transforming itself from opaque to transparent. Since it’s an EV, the performance vehicle does provide a respective 31 liters front boot and 507 litres of back boot space. It features a 360-degree camera and an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite.

Price and Variants:

The Indian variant of Emeya is offered in 6 colours which are Kaimu Grey, Boreal Grey, Solar Yellow, Fireglow Orange, Akoya White and Stellar Black.

The company priced this new electric sedan at the starting price of Rs 2.37 crores (ex-showroom). However, Prices may vary based on different geographical locations.
