The Skoda Octavia has been discontinued in the Indian market, while it is an interesting premium sedan from the manufacturer. Nevertheless, the Czech company also showcased the new-generation Skoda Octavia RS along with other offerings from the brand at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
Skoda Octavia Rs Looks and design:
Talking about the look and design, the Octavia RS looks similar to the standard version of the sedan except that it gets a blacked out radiator grille, it’s a redesigned grille with larger air intakes, newly designed alloy wheels and more. The grille is flanked by sharp headlamps with projector units on either side and split LED DRLS on either side. The hood has fine creases while the side profile gets larger alloy wheels with a new design.
In the back profile of the sedan, the car gets compact and wraparound LED tail lights, lip spoiler etc. The exhaust pipes come in black colour and are electronically tuned for a more aggressive sound in start-up and sport mode.
What’s Inside The Octavia Rs Interior?
Here, The interior of the Skoda Octavia RS looks similar to the standard model in terms of layout. However, the all-black theme with red colour accents on the dashboard, door trim and elsewhere gives it a sporty feel, which complements the RS badge of the sedan. It gets a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel, a fully digital instrument cluster and a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system. The centre console gets a glossy panel with soft-touch buttons.
Sedan’s Powertrain and Specifications:
This Skoda sedan is powered by the company’s popular 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine now generates a peak power of 259 bhp and a maximum torque of 372 nm. The new Skoda Octavia RS is mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox for transmission, which promises to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 6.9 seconds, Which makes it one of the fastest front-wheel drive cars globally.
However, Currently Skoda only sells the Slavia model in India in the sedan segment. This mid-size sedan has been a successful product for the brand despite the overall pressure on the segment due to the rapid growing demand and sales of SUVs. However, the display of the Skoda Octavia RS at the Auto Expo indicates that the company may bring back sedans in India in near future.
