Who ruled over Delhi? Exit poll gave tension to everyone, these figures came out

Delhi Chunav Exit Polls: Voting for 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly has been completed. Now are on the results. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is trying to form the government for the fourth consecutive time, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is dreaming of returning to power in Delhi after almost 27 years. That is why the same Congress is also trying to make this election contest triangular.

BJP ahead in exit poll

The exit poll results released after the polling ended have increased the election mobilisation. According to preliminary estimates, the BJP is gaining ground in Delhi. If these exit poll figures prove correct, then the BJP can return to power in Delhi after 27 years. At the same time, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) may suffer a setback this time. The situation does not look favourable for the Congress.

What happened in 2015 and 2020?

The history of the exit poll results in the Delhi Assembly elections has been mixed.

  • 2015 elections: Exit polls showed the AAP’s lead, but the actual results were even more shocking. The AAP get 67 out of 70 seats.
  • 2020 elections: Exit poll estimates were closer to actual results. The AAP had formed the government with 62 seats, while the BJP had won only 8 seats.

Now we have to wait for the counting of votes on February 8, to see what will happen in the 2025 assembly elections.

Political picture of Delhi

Congress’s Sheila Dikshit ruled Delhi from 1998 to 2013. After this, the AAP came to power for the first time in 2013. However, this government lasted only 49 days. In 2015 and 2020, under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP won an overwhelming majority. However, this time the BJP has put all its strength and wants to take advantage of the exit polls as well.

Now we have to see how accurate the exit poll data proves to be. Will you return to power, or will the BJP’s 27-year wait end? Will the Congress do any shocking performance? All these questions will be answered on February 8, when Delhi’s mandate comes out.
