World Book Fair: Voting for 70 assembly seats in Delhi’s national capital is underway from 7 am. The New Delhi World Book Fair has been closed on Wednesday (February 5) in view of the polling. The National Book Trust (NBT) on Tuesday (February 4) announced that the existing New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) will remain closed on Wednesday due to assembly elections in the national capital.
In fact, the fair being organised at Bharat Mandapam started on February 1. The book fair highlights India’s journey as a republic over the last 75 years. This time the theme of the New Delhi World Book Fair is ‘A Republic on 75’. Most of the pavilions set up at the book fair are centred around it. We would like to inform you that the New Delhi World Book Fair will remain closed on February 5 to encourage public participation in the Delhi Assembly elections, the organiser of the NBT said in a statement. As a result of this shutdown, our visitors, employees and partners will be able to cast their vote and fulfil their civic duty.
The book fair will be organised from February 6 to 9
The NDWBF said the fair will resume on February 6 and will run till February 9, 2025. Now this fair will be open from 10 am to 9 pm. Writers and speakers from 50 countries including France, Qatar, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Colombia are set to participate in the NDWBF 2025, with Russia designated as the ‘centre nation’ of the fair.
