Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE Leak Hints at Powerful Chip and Budget Foldable Strategy

Galaxy Z Flip FE: Although it has not been officially announced, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE still keeps the tech community abuzz. The smartphone was previously seen on Geekbench, and now it has resurfaced on the benchmarking platform with a big surprise: another chipset driving the foldable. Following several leaks from the last few months with contradicting information, the new Geekbench listing provides yet another twist to the narrative.
New Geekbench Listing Reveals Potential Exynos 2500
This time, the Galaxy Z Flip FE surfaced on Geekbench with model number SM-F766U. The chipset configuration caught attention. It’s driven by a ten-core processor with a 1+2+5+2 architecture and a flagship CPU core running at 3.30GHz. The specs indicate the unannounced Exynos 2500 chipset, as suggested by its design and codename ‘s5e9955’. This is different from previous reports that had placed the device with an Exynos 2400.
Performance Results and RAM Upgrade
The fresh prototype not only comes with a different chipset but also a RAM upgrade. The phone is being spotted with Android 16 and 12GB of RAM, an improvement from the earlier mentioned 8 GB. From the Geekbench scores, the phone registered 2,012 points in single-core tests and 7,563 in multi-core tests, with clear performance improvements from earlier listings.
Confusion Over Chipset Choice Continues
There were initially speculations that Samsung would opt for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset for this FE model. Nevertheless, the continuous appearance of Exynos processors in different listings contributes to ambiguity. If Samsung has any plan of using the Exynos 2500, it would be the first time an Exynos chip has been used in a foldable phone, a feat that the company has never achieved.
Earlier Listings Hinted At Exynos 2400
Earlier this month, the same device showed up on Geekbench with model number SM-F761N, but that listing indicated the Exynos 2400 chipset and 8GB RAM. The discrepancy has raised questions among enthusiasts as to if Samsung is testing several variants or choosing between two final candidates. In either case, both listings indicate the same operating system: Android 16.
Expected Launch Timeline and Features
Although Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed anything yet, the Galaxy Z Flip FE should launch next month in July during the next Galaxy Unpacked. It’ll reportedly come hand in hand with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. The Flip FE rumor mill has it featuring a 6.7-inch primary screen, a 3.4-inch cover screen, and a 3,700mAh battery with 25W charging support.
Final Thoughts: Still in the Air, But Promising
The Galaxy Z Flip FE remains a mystery when it comes to the final hardware, especially the chipset. But one thing is clear Samsung is working on something big. Whether it ends up using an Exynos 2400, Exynos 2500, or even a Snapdragon chip, the Flip FE could become a solid entry-level foldable in Samsung’s lineup if priced right and packed with competitive features.
