Huge cash coming in Delhi, jewellery, expensive gifts including liquor, these items are being brought to attract voters

Cash, jewellery, liquor for voters: Political parties and candidates are expected to motivate voters to vote through development issues and their welfare schemes, which can lead to peaceful and fair elections. On the other hand, voters also have a responsibility to vote on the basis of issues. Do not give political parties and candidates the right to decide the value of their votes. But it is worrying that huge amounts of cash as well as liquor, drugs, jewellery, expensive gifts etc. are coming to the capital through illegal elections. Along with this, all tricks are being used to win voters in the elections being held in the country’s capital. On the other hand, the concerned agencies are taking continuous action to seize cash, liquor and valuables.
According to Delhi Police data, 738 cases have been registered so far in violation of the code of conduct in view of the assembly elections. All the cases were registered between January 7 and January 26. These include party leaders and workers. So far, 364 illegal weapons and 445 cartridges have been recovered. During 20 days, 61.610 litres of illegal liquor worth Rs 1.8 crore, 156.411 kg of drugs worth Rs 72 crore have been recovered.
This was the situation in the last assembly election
In the 2020 assembly elections, agencies seized 24.50 times more goods, including cash, than in the 2015 assembly elections. This included liquor, gold, jewellery, precious gift items, etc. At the same time, almost 30 times more cash was seized during the 2020 assembly elections than in the 2015 elections. Subsequently, various agencies seized cash worth Rs 12.80 crore. Apart from this, liquor, drugs, clothes, expensive items etc. were also seized. Including all these, the price was over Rs 59 crore.

The Election Commission keeps an eye on election expenditure. In the 2020 assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party spent the most compared to other parties within the ambit of the rules. Then you spent Rs 11,98,16,306. The BJP spent Rs 9,81,98,122 and the Congress Rs 7,00,53,562. This expenditure was within the ambit of the rules.
